The aim of this text edition is to show the main stages of awareness of Mongolia by the Siberians. It begins from the first contacts with the population of Central Asia, appearance of the first tolmach-translators and ends by formation in Russia of the scientific directions and schools studying Mongolia. The author considers the role of the Siberians in this process, their penetration to Mongolian society and role in its innovative development.
